What is a BCBA?

A Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) uses the science of behaviour to help individuals build functional skills and increase their quality of life.

What Do BCBAs Do?

  • Assess the why, when, and where of a behaviour

  • Create individualized treatment plans targeting communication, social skills, daily living skills, regulation, and more

  • Use positive behaviour support strategies to help individuals reach their goals

  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and other professionals (SLPs, OTs, etc.)

  • Track progress using data to make meaningful decisions

  • Follow ethical and evidence-based practices

  • Support individuals across all ages and settings (home, centre, community, daycare/school)

  • Help families navigate appropriate support and resources for their child
